D.I.Y. Wedding Centerpiece
Every time I search online for centerpiece ideas there are some that come up every single time. Above is one in particular that always catches my eye. It’s beautiful, simple, yet elegant. I am never able to find a price for it but I do have a similar vase from IKEA. That got me thinking that I could probably replicate the look for next to nothing. So I did some price checking, and was able to get the look for $25 (plus applicable taxes) for all three pieces. Vases 6″ – - – - – $2.49 Ikea – Knaster Decorative stones in 5 assorted colors $1.49 ea – - – $4.47 (3 packs) Ikea – Blomster artificial flower $2.49 each – - – - $7.47 (3 blooms) (Not the exact flower as in the original, but works beautifully if you trim the leaf on the bottom and cut the stem shorter.) www.wholesaleflowersandsupplies.com $2.12 per table (Pack of 12 for $8.49) You could probably find floating candles from your local discount store for less, but that is still a good price for 12 – $.70 per)
Ikea – Rektangel Vase
8 1/4″ – - – $2.49
9″ – - – - – $5.99

I would love to see some pictures when you do this centerpiece.
Beautiful centerpiece my niece is getting married soon. I want to show her these. Also, I wonder if putting some rinse agent in the water would keep it from leaving an evaporation ring if you kept it as a centerpiece long term on your table. And maybe a tiny bit of scented Clorox to keep it fresh? I’ll have to try it.

Hi Wendy -
That’s a great idea to add a rinse agent and fragrance. I’ve also heard of people adding vinegar to the water or just using distilled water to avoid the ring. Don’t really know which works. You could also add some food coloring or even LED lights to illuminate the water, especially for an evening/night wedding. Let me know how it turns out if you try it.
